What is DHCP Scope?

Answer: A DHCP scope is a range of valid IP addresses which are available for lease or assignment to client computers on a particular subnet. In a DHCP server we can configure a scope to determine the address pool of IP which is the server can provide its DHCP clients. Scopes should be defined and activated before DHCP client use the DHCP server for its dynamic IP configuration. You can configure many scopes on DHCP server as is required on our network environment.
